Ignite Association Announces Short Film Festival: Calling Entries for Animation and VFX Short Films

Indian Animation and VFX is receiving great encouragement with various rewarding short film festivals!!

One such platform to look out for is Ignite Short Film Festival, which believes in uniting filmmakers under a single platform with the most compelling short films.

Ignite Short Film Festival, initiated by Ignite Association, is inviting entries for Documentaries, Fiction Short movies, Animation, Ads, Spoofs and Promotions.

If you are extremely passionate about film making then Ignite short film festival is offering various animation short film submission ideas that include Motion Graphics, 2D/3D Animation, Stop-Motion and VFX movies. Short films need to be of minimum 30 seconds duration and can go up to maximum 30 minutes.

Founded by Jaswanth Bhargav in 2011, Ignite Association, a non-profit organization based out of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, believes in bringing out artistic talents hidden in the student community.

Speaking to Animationxpress.com’s Zeenia Boatwala about Ignite Short Film Festival, Jaswanth Bhargav, President, Ignite association, shares, “In this 2 day short film festival, We want people from diverse races, nationalities and backgrounds come together to enjoy important cinematic works of creativity, intellectual expansion, identity, and equality. So, by placing the spotlight on innovative films, we call for an extraordinary event on February 9 and 10, 2013 at Vijayawada.”

According to Ignite Association, unique movies and new concepts will stand a chance to win at the festival and the association believes that festivals like these build up networking amongst creative minds to exchange ideas and strategies and also help in promoting imagination and art of short film making.

The winning movies will be gifted cash prizes and certificates. Prizes are designed for various short film categories and the winner for the Best Animated Short film would receive a cash price of INR 8000.  Other awards would be given for the Best Film of the Festival, which would win INR 15000, Best Fiction Film, which would be presented with INR 8000, Best Documentary Film will receive INR 8000 and Best Miscellaneous Film will take away INR 8000 and also 4 Special Jury Awards are in the lineup of the festival.

The jury for this short film festival has experienced and notable people from the film industry, which includes C Uma Maheswara Rao, who is the Chairman of the Jury and jury members K L Prasad and Indhraganti Kiranmai

The last date for submitting your entries for this short film festival is the 5th of February’13 and you need to pay a participation fee of INR 500.
