While Mario, one of the most iconic video game characters is making his way into the mobile platform through Super Mario Run, Nintendo seems to be bolstering its promotions just a week before the game officially launches over iOS.
Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of famed gaming titles like Donkey Kong, The Legends of Zelda and even Mario was recently seen in ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon, where they showcased Nintendo’s recent console addition titled ‘Switch’ which works both as a traditional console and as a handheld one as well. Apart from that there as a gameplay session of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well.
While these were great, Nintendo also released two videos revolving around the soon-to-be-launched Super Mario Run. The first one is a basic introductory trailer to the gameplay, its elements and different modes of the game, while the second one is a live-action trailer for the game.
The live-action trailer shows off people of all ages and nationalities, frantically running through various locations, featuring iconic monuments around the globe. Interspersed with the classic Super Mario Bros. music theme in a cheery tone, the trailer barely shows off the plumber in action except the last few seconds where the runners flock the Times Square lead by Mario himself, who touches the flag of a virtual castle, just like in the titular games.
Super Mario Run will be releasing over iOS on 15 December for $9.99, after a free demo. However, during the show, Nintendo America, president, Reggie Fils-Aimé revealed that the game would be available across Apple Stores throughout the world as a free demo from 8 December.
