The Academy has announced 20 films that will advance to the short-listing round in the Best Visual Effects Oscar race for the 88th Academy Awards.

• Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation
• The Revenant
• Spectre
• Star Wars: The Force Awakens
• Terminator Genisys
• Tomorrowland
• The Walk
The 10-film short list will be announced later this month, with nominations to be announced on 14 January. The Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on 28 February.
