JCC, the pan-Arab media organisation, launched the new series Bader: Legend of the Pearls which reflects the richness and diversity of Arab heritage coupled with courage and intelligence of an Arab child. The series is a tale of a young boy’s wondrous adventures, set mostly in a quaint pearling town named Dana in the Arabic Gulf in the turn of the 20th Century, which begins with his search for his father who disappeared during a mysterious diving trip. Bader faces numerous surprises and challenges as he battles with sea villains who are trying to steal his powers and end his journey which he completes with courage and bravery.
JCC, acting executive GM and channels’ director, Saad Al Hudaifi, said, “Our channels offer a mix of programs that are carefully produced and selected to meet and exceed audience expectations. We have integrated a child centric brand that caters to the modern needs of Arab children and aim to enrich their views and develop their skills and creativity. With the Bader series our main goal is to maintain the Arab cultural identity and to instill and encourage strong values and ideals that will contribute to a promising future generation of young people”.
In light of the lack of content that enhances the Arab identity, JCC provides safe and inspiring content with distinct Arab characteristics in the new Bader series. Al-Hudaifi stressed that JCC has committed to providing content that elevates and inspires the Arab children through a competitive 360 degree content approach that caters to the needs and aspirations of the young generation whether through the screen or across multiple interactive platforms and digital windows. The action adventure animation series will have 26 episodes initially, each of 11 minutes and will be aired mainly in two languages – Arabic and English.
And to add to the list, Studio 100 Media has signed a deal with Al Jazeera Media Network for the new CGI versions of Vic the Viking, Heidi and the CG-animated preschool series Trains. While Al-Hudaifi also announced a project in collaboration with YouTube to set up a special page for children to showcase content that develops their skills and creative talents through YouTube Kids.
