Earlier we came across the news that after LEGOs, emojis are now getting their very own feature courtesy Sony Pictures Animation and now we will get to see PEZ candy in an animated flick.
Envision Media Arts (EMA) has entered into an exclusive agreement with PEZ Candy to develop an animated feature based on the spring-loaded rectangle dispensers with the flip-up heads. Cameron Fay will be writing the script for this sugar loaded film. Fay is currently working on Brother In Law and the sequel for The Three Stooges.
“PEZ Candy is beloved by children and adults alike,” EMA CEO and founder Lee Nelson said. “With Cameron Fay we’ve created a world unique to Pez and a story that will touch the hearts of many.”
Lee Nelson and David Buelow are producing the film and David Tish, Gregg Rossen, Brian Sawyer and Jonathan Hung will executive produce it.
The candy which first came out in 1927 in Austria is currently consumed by over 3 billion people annually in USA alone. The PEZ dispenser which is quite a collectible item is seen having various characters head on top of it. The heads range from Disney characters to Ninja Turtles to DC/Marvel characters to Transformers.
We hope that it will be a visual treat to see all these characters from diverse movies together in one film just like how we saw Batman and Wonder Woman in LEGO Movie.
