Way back in the 1970s, nobody thought that a galactic world far, far away would hold such a close place in our hearts, but George Lucas’ brainchild, Star Wars has only left us asking for more from the space-adventure with each installment.

J.J Abrams directing the seventh installment, Star Wars – The Force Awakens is already making the headlines with the original star cast Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill reprising their iconic roles of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker respectively.

The San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) is already sprawling with a massive crowd-gathering in downtown and the Star Wars panel at Hall H just added fuel to the fan’s euphoria. Joining the panel were Harrison Ford, director J.J. Abrams, producer Kathleen Kennedy, writer Lawrence Kasdan and several Star Wars newcomers and veterans along with Chris Hardwicke moderating the session.

Harrison Ford made his first public appearance since his plane-mishap in March which left the 70 year-old hospitalized. Speaking straight from his heart, the veteran-star stated, “The original Star Wars was the beginning of my working life,I was very happy to be apart of the story and the cast again.”

Addressing over 6,500 fans at the panel, J.J Abrams revealed a special behind-the-scenes reel of the upcoming installment. He has also promised another teaser-promo of The Force Awakens soon but what took the fans by surprise was the unexpected invitation to all the fans to a special Star Wars concert held at the end of the panel. The studio brought in an entire army of Stormtroopers to guide the fans right from the Convention Centre to the water-front area where the concert was held.

The concert kicked off with the legendary ‘Star Wars’ composer John Williams’ shout-out from the Star Wars series, “May the Force be with you”. The entire evening reverberated with amazing compositions from the Star Wars’ movies with everyone in the crowd flashing their light-sabers before ending-up with a fireworks show.

Star Wars – The Force Awakens is the seventh episode in the feature series and hits the theatres on 18 December 2015.
