The much awaited Disney Square Enix RPG game, Kingdom Hearts 3 will have a hint of an Indian touch to its development stage.
The development of characters in the game has been outsourced to studios in India and the famed Indian firm Laksyha Digital, is rumoured to be behind the character modeling and texturing. According to a LinkedIn post by an employee (which was later removed) this development has come to the forefront.
India for sometime has been a hub for outsourced work. Not only IT companies but video game companies too have set up shop here or have been outsourcing certain areas of work to studios here, giving rise to the an industry. A single game is no longer created within a solo studio, but there are studios with different expertise that collaborate on creating an excellent game.
The rise of such outsourced work has been one of the reasons for the rise of new set of indie developers, emerging from the country and doing really great work developing games which is at par with some of the international games.
Square Enix has been planning to reveal more details about the game at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this June, but looks like the game won’t make it this year and is most likely to be released in the first half of 2016, keeping anticipating fans in waiting.
