Animation industry in the country known for its abundant rubber plantations has a vast potential to create a lot of job opportunities, according to second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
As such, he said the Education Ministry would foster closer cooperation with the private sector to produce more animation experts in the future.
“Animation industry is an industry that can create jobs, stimulate the economy and increase the national income. Besides, animation should not be associated only with games, but also with education,” he told reporters after opening the Animation @ Besut Programme organised by the Community College Department in Malaysia on Saturday.
Idris also said certain higher education institutions, including community colleges, had even introduced diploma courses in Games Art 3D Animation and 2D Animation in accordance with the “High Teck High Value” slogan.
