The folks present at Comic-Con got to witness something that would have even brought a smile to Lord Voldemort’s face. Daniel Radcliffe aka ‘Harry Potter’ made his first-ever Comic-Con appearance dressed as the friendly neighborhood hero Spiderman.
The young star, who also recently celebrated his 25th birthday, was gleefully wished by the over 6,000 plus attendees as he made his way to speak at a panel for his new movie ‘Horns’
In the horror-comedy, Radcliffe plays a character named Ig who is experiencing two major traumas in his life: the murder of his girlfriend (played by Juno Temple), and the sudden appearance of demonic horns growing out of his head.
Radcliffe told the Comic-Con crowd that he listened to heavy metal bands Metallica and Megadeth as a way to capture his character’s way of speaking. The trailer for the film debuted at the panel, and Horns is scheduled to be released on Halloween.
Besides his upcoming film, the movie star was also asked a lot of questions about his most famous role as the iconic boy wizard.
“There may have been, and I’m sure there still are, a lot of people who just see me as Harry, but it only takes one director to not,” he said. “And I’ve been lucky so far in that I’ve had four or five directors who have taken a chance on me and wanted to see me do something different.”
On choosing to wear the Spiderman costume, the actor told MTV News that he wore a Spider-Man costume so he could experience the event incognito.
“You don’t go to Comic-Con without going down on the floor and seeing it all,’ Radcliffe said. “And the way I came up with doing it was Spider-Man.”
“It’s a great superhero and covers the face, so it was perfect,” he added.
