‘The Angry Birds Movie’ returns to theatres for 10th anniversary

The birds are back, and they are still angry. The Angry Birds Movie will return to select theatres across the US from 13 November for a 10th anniversary re-release by Iconic Events Releasing and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Tickets are on sale through major ticketing platforms. The week-long event comes ahead of The Angry Birds Movie 3, scheduled to release on 23 December.

Released in 2016, the original film grossed more than US$350 million worldwide, giving the popular mobile game franchise a successful big-screen outing.

Set on an island of flightless birds, the story follows short-tempered Red, speedy Chuck and explosive Bomb as they investigate a group of mysterious green pigs threatening their peaceful home. Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Danny McBride lead the voice cast, alongside Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn, Tony Hale and Keegan-Michael Key.

Directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, the film was written by Jon Vitti and produced by John Cohen and Catherine Winder.

With the third instalment approaching, the anniversary outing gives fans another chance to revisit Bird Island before the next flock takes flight.
