Singapore-based animation company, Winking Studios, revealed its text to 3D animation GenMotion.AI application at the next@acer global press conference in Berlin, Germany.

The application is developed by the studio’s AI research lab and is designed for professional animators and game production companies. This tool uses AI to generate 3D animations using text descriptions and is now open for beta testing.

The tool features advanced customisation features designed to meet specific animation requirements. The studio is also planning to expand the tool’s reach making it accessible to professionals as well as amateur creators.

The AI application uses high-quality training data and is specifically curated to meet the demands of the gaming industry, enabling precise and accurate animations as claimed. The press release also claims that all training data is copy-right protected with the entire motion capture process fully recorded on video and documented on the blockchain. The tool is crafted with an understanding of animator workflows and requirements to enhance creativity and productivity. 

Winking Studios was founded in 2003 and has over 20 years of experience in game development and art outsourcing. The company has over 800 employees in offices throughout Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou. The company has developed game projects for platforms such as PC, Mobile, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5. The studio has worked with clients such as Ubisoft, Riot Games, Bungie, EA and Activision among others. The studio has been part of games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Destiny 2, Skull and Bones, Final Fantasy XIV, Genshin Impact and others.
