IGDC to host 48-hour game jam in July

India Game Developer Conference (IGDC) has collaborated with WTF Community to organise a two-day hackathon for game developers to create video games based on a varied set of themes.

The event titled WTF x IGDC Game Jam 2024, will be judged by Nazara Technologies CEO Nitesh Mittersain, Krafton India CEO Sean (Hyunil) Sohn, 8bit and S8UL founder and CEO Animesh Agarwal, Lila Games CEO Joseph Kim and True Beacon, Gruhas and Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath.

The game jam will commence from 19 July 2024 at 6 pm and will end on 21 July 2024 at 6 pm. Participants can register from anywhere including their homes, through a link provided on the event’s page on itch.io. Participants can work solo, or in a team of three to five members. They need to join the official WTF Community Discord to team up with fellow participants. There is no limit to the number of entries a team can submit. As per the event’s official itch.io page, every participant will gain access to WTF Community and gaming masterclasses by industry experts. The individuals/teams who make it to the top 10 will get a chance to pitch their game to industry veterans, visit Bengaluru’s top gaming studios, internship opportunities and mentorship opportunities. The top three teams will receive cash prizes worth Rs. 15 lakhs and additional goodies.
