YouTube is a superlative resource and it has changed the world of kids entertainment. There are plenty of kids’ YouTube channels that are both entertaining and instills curiosity. We particularly love content that is educational, amusing, and serve as an excellent means to bond with the little munchkins in a fun way!

Whether you have toddlers or tweens to entertain, there are tons of options that will capture their attention, and maybe even secretly teach them something new. Apart from being enjoyable, these channels host videos that are pleasurable to watch together as a family. 

We’ve rounded up 10 channels that will broaden your kids’ YouTube horizon and perhaps inspire new interests in animals, science, music and keep them busy.

1) Peppa Pig

Free YouTube kids movies are a little hard to find. But, if you’re looking for stories for kids, the Peppa Pig official channel has you covered. Usually airing on ABC Kids, Peppa Pig is a favourite amongst children. Now, your child can watch it at any time on YouTube.

Peppa Pig captivates viewers with strong female characters that appeal to both girls and boys, challenging situations and relatable characters, and messages about sharing, family and kindness.

The channel boasts 25 million subscribers and was started in 2013.

2) Cocomelon

Cocomelon is all about keeping kids entertained while helping them to grow and learn. Their videos have 3D animation, educational lyrics and beats. They inspire children to jump and groove. Cocomelon’s videos help kids learn colours, animal sounds, numbers and letters. Their collection of nursery rhymes is refreshing and unmissable.

The channel has 118M subscribers and was founded by Treasure Studio Inc. in 2006.

3) Curious George

If your child can’t get enough of Curious George, there’s more to see on the official YouTube channel. The show promotes the themes of learning, forgiveness and playful curiosity. The English show updates their kids YouTube channel with full episodes every week.

George is a good little monkey and always very curious! For over 80 years, the adventures of George and his friend The Man With the Yellow Hat have been delighting children with their playfulness and fun. The content reveals how curiosity is a building block of learning, as it introduces simple science, technology, engineering and math concepts to the youngest viewers.

The channel has 2.51 million subscribers and was founded by Ted Shackleford in 2017.

4) Super Simple Songs

There is a reason why this YouTube channel boasts millions of views. The animated videos are designed perfectly to help either keep your kid occupied with an afternoon of sing-alongs or send off to sleep with a lullaby like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. There is also original content on Super Simple Songs, featuring a collection of strange creatures that help teach lessons on everything from how to treat your family members to steps you can take to eat healthier.

The channel has 31.2 million subscribers. It was founded in the year 2015 by Devon Thagard and Troy McDonald.

5) Kids Channel

Kids Channel belongs to USP Studios. It produces content in more than 28 languages. USP’s goal is to educate while keeping children entertained. They want to encourage children’s curiosity to explore in a safe environment.

Kids Channel airs videos, nursery rhymes and songs for children. They use vibrant colours to stir children’s imaginations and nurture their minds. Their YouTube cartoon videos include: Monster Truck Dan – stories about a fun, loving monster truck, Little Red Car Cartoons – Little Red Car loves singing nursery rhymes with his friends, Road Rangers – superhero street vehicles that fight crime and keep the streets safe, Pepee TV – educational videos about growing up for toddlers, and Momo Beats – bright, colourful, music and cartoons.

Kids Channel has 5.88 million and was started in 2013.

6) CBeebies

Brought to you by the BBC, this channel is aimed at children ages six and younger who are watching alongside a parent. With a mix of live-action and animated content, CBeebies teaches everything from the alphabet to how to make Christmas cards.

CBeebies is dedicated to delighting and surprising its pre-school audience and it remains the UK’s most watched and most loved channel for the little munchkins.

The YouTube channel has 1.91M subscribers and was started in 2012.

7) Kids Learning Tube

The name of this kids YouTube channel may not be the wittiest, but it’s filled with a lot of fun. There’s content for both elementary and middle school-aged kids, whether they’re curious about clouds, planets, vegetables, or geography. The songs will get in your head, but that also means you’ve learned something, too!

Kids Learning Tube educates kids through music and animation in a fun and unique approach to learning. It has 1.15 million subscribers. It was founded by Matt Lawrence in 2015.

8) Sesame Street

The Sesame Street YouTube channel is a colorful community of monsters, birds, grouches, and humans. It is a place where everyone counts. The little ones can spend time with all their favourite furry friends and subscribe for new videos every week. Kids can also dance, sing and learn with all their favorite Sesame Street friends, which can be added as a fun daily activity in your child’s routine.

The shorts use diverse animation styles to illustrate quality concepts that promote pre-reading skills, interpersonal relationships, and personal health, among other topics. 

The channel has 22.4M subscribers and was started in 2006.

9) Pinkfong

It’s the YouTube channel that hatched the infamous Baby Shark – and tons of other cute song videos your toddler will love. They have a library of fun and educational videos that captured the hearts of millions of children around the world.

You will come across hundreds of kids’ favourite songs and stories, including nursery rhymes, phonics songs, number songs, bedtime lullabies, children’s classics, fairy tales and more! They also have educational songs and stories for preschool kids created by experts in children’s education.

The channel boasts 52.1 million subscribers and was started in 2011.

10) KidsTV123

Toddlers and preschoolers can learn basics like letters, shapes and colors with these short animated musical videos.

They offer an extensive library with over 100 early learning videos. Find learning videos about time, colors, letters, spelling, states, and many other skills. There is a wide variety of topics, making this site very useful in an early classroom situation or for children at home. Video lengths run from one to three minutes, making them great for young students.

The channel was founded by A.J. Jenkins in 2009 and has 4.09 million subscribers.
