MITCON e-school recently tied up with Meteor Institute of Digital Design Studies (MIDDS), the educational division of Meteor Films to establish it�s division of Animation and Graphic Design.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, MIDDS MD Satyam Bansal said, “MITCON e-School operates over 650 centers across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The idea behind this tie-up is to take the Animation and Design education to all parts of the state and all classes of society. MIDDS will facilitate the execution of these courses.”
The school will be launching Diploma and short term courses which extend from four to 15 months in Animation and Media Design which will begin in a month�s time. The head office of MITCON e-School is in Pune. The existing franchisee network of MITCON will be utilized to roll out these courses across the state. These franchisees will upgrade their computer systems to the specifications and requirements of the courses. MIDDS-MITCON plans to open about 30 centers every year throughout the state.
The courses will be certified by MIDDS and MITCON.
Talking about the selection of faculty, Bansal said, “The faculty will be sourced from the area where the centers are. For instance, for a center in Aurangabad, faculty will be hired locally. The faculty must have completed an Animation course from a recognized Animation training center. Every faculty is required to undergo a 15 day training session at MIDDS headquarters in Mumbai.”
MIDDS has finalized a technical and student exchange programme with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore recently.
MITCON e-school was established in 2000 and provides education in the field of IT and vocational training in the state of Mahrashtra
Vinay Kunwar- Executive VP MITCON commented, “There is a huge untapped artistic potential in our state. All these people need is the opportunity and a platform which this tie-up intends to provide.”
With the diploma courses coming into force, students will have another option to consider this academic year.
