Scooby Doo returns to the big screen in an animated avatar in 2018

The hilarious duo of Shaggy Roberts and his chocolaty Great Dane ‘Scooby’ are on their way back into our lives to tickle our funny bones once again. Scooby doo and the gang is all set to make a comeback to the silver screen after a sabbatical.

Warner Bros. is bringing back the Scooby-Doo franchise with an animated movie which would be produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle who also have previously produced Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, the studio’s live-action films. Teamed up with them is Allison Abbate who has credits on Fantastic Mr. Fox, Corpse Bride and Franken weenie.

The movie is yet untitled but has Space Jam helmer Tony Cervone on board as the director.  Cervone has previously worked for the Cartoon Network’s The Looney Tunes Show and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. It also has Matt Lieberman (Dr. Do-little: Tail to the Chief) for the screenplay and Dan Povenmire (Family Guy) is on board as executive producer.

Scooby had laid its magical spell on the audiences earlier with its movies, Scooby-Doo (2002), Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004), Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins (2009) and Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster (2010).

The solving of supernatural mysteries by this gang of four teenagers, Fred , Daphne ,Velma , and Norville ‘Shaggy’ Rogers along with their Great Dane, Scooby Doo that led to a series of well amalgamated spookiness and loads of laughter, was first broadcasted on television in 1969. ‘Scooby Doo, Where are you’ as it originally was named was the brainchild of writers, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and was created for Hanna-Barbera Productions by in 1969.

The movie is all set for release on 21 September, 2018.
