Corus Entertainment, the exclusive brand partner for Nickelodeon in Canada, announced a new content deal with Netflix. This deal includes the Canadian streaming rights to Nickelodeon’s classic hit series such as iCarly, Sam & Cat and Victorious, among others. The agreement also includes exclusive streaming rights to the popular animated Nick series, The Legend of Korra.
Corus Entertainment, VP of content distribution, Shawn Praskey said, “We’re delighted to partner with Netflix and reintroduce these iconic Nickelodeon series to Canadian kids and families on the streaming service”. He also added, “This deal provides YTV fans with even more of the content they love across a variety of platforms.”
As the sole Canadian rights holder of Nickelodeon’s catalogue of current content and library titles, Corus has the exclusive rights to distribute digital content in Canada. Nickelodeon’s current line up can be found on Corus’ Kids Networks YTV and Nickelodeon (Canada).
Nickelodeon has been a popular kids entertainment in the past with shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legends of the Hidden Temple. Now, with their new features on Netflix in Canada, they hope on providing an exquisite viewer experience to Canadian kids and their families, as the content can be streamed on the go.
