Next year shall see the new Teletubbies and Twirlywoo, two of DHX Media’s flagship preschool properties air on ABC according to the new broadcast deal inked by DHX media and the Australian Broadcasting Company.
Popular among the toddlers, Teletubbies which are back with 60 new episodes for 2015 are set to premiere on CBeebies later this year. The CGI enhancements of the Teletubbies world are being taken advantage of to ramp up the creative imagination of their stories. Meanwhile, Ragdoll Productions’ Twirlywoos (50 x 11) has combined innovative, nurturing stories with laugh-out-loud humor to help young audiences gain confidence in their perceptions of the world.
Teletubbies first launched in March 1997 and became one of the most successful global children’s brands of all time. It had reached more than one billion children to date while the original episodes have aired in more than 120 territories in 45 different languages. It was the very first western pre-school property to air on China’s CCTV reaching an audience of 300 million children.
Twirlywoos, produced by Ragdoll Productions, is innovative, nurturing, inspiring entertainment with laugh-out-loud humour encouraging young audiences to gain confidence in their perceptions of the world. Executive produced by pre-eminent producer Anne Wood with lead writer, Steve Roberts and research from early childhood development expert Professor Nutbrown, it successfully manages in engaging children through characters and situations that they will adore.
